All Wrapped Up
The age-old tradition of gift-giving is rich with cultural significance, helping people build relationships and extend generosity for as long as history has been documented. While the gift inside tends to be the star of the show, the labor of love that goes into wrapping cannot be overlooked. Each gift is an opportunity to share a little extra joy with those around you.
Jerry Jafano takes it to the next level. In addition to being our Creative Director, Garrett’s dad, Jerry is also an expert gift wrapper. Seeing ornately wrapped gifts in a magazine as a teen was the catalyst for Jerry’s passion for the perfect package, one that he has continued to refine and perfect over the years. Straight and crisp edges are precisely measured to fit each box. Boxes of bows are dug through to find the exact pop of color that compliments the meticulously placed ribbons. It was clear early on that he had a special eye for wrapping when he was asked to tone it down as a volunteer gift wrapper at Hudson’s because some thought his craftmanship would outshine others’ work.
The Gift of the Gift
For us, watching Jerry work and hearing him speak about why he’s passionate about his artful approach felt like a gift of its own. Each package becomes an intentional and customized treasure for each recipient. We are all feeling inspired to take some extra time as we prepare our holiday gifts this season. But of course, Jerry did not let us leave empty-handed! Now we each have a beautiful gift under our own trees.
